When writing ‘Collections’ we felt like we didn’t want to be constrained to the more standard indie influences that may have been expected of us. The way people consume music these days, it doesn’t really matter where you are from. All music from everywhere is available to consume at any time. We became fascinated by lot of South American music, in particular music from Brazil. The song ‘Baiya’ is our interpretation of the word “baile’, which is the portuguese for ‘dance’ and the drumming and harmony on ‘Baiya’ was quite influenced by a lot of this kind of music.
